River Rising, also known as River Katz, is a trans cartoonist, zinester, and writer whose work explores queer themes, mental health, and healing through story. They host monthly DIY Tarot Workshops in downtown Albuquerque.
They have a BFA majoring in Sequential Narrative, and are currently pursuing a Master’s in Narrative Medicine. They worked in independent publishing for three years, and their art has been featured in over twenty books and four comics.
At the moment they are most interested in illustration and comic projects that are queer or music related (especially scifi, horror, romance, or erotic themes), fun fanart, fursonas or custom tarot portraits.
